According to the last findings published in Lancet 2016, the UK has the lowest breastfeeding rates in the whole world!!! Many mothers give up breastfeeding before they wanted to partly because they are not getting the right support to establish breastfeeding. Therefore, we need more LLL leaders to support breastfeeding mothers and babies in our communities. So we can change these trends, one breastfeeding mother and baby at a time.
La Leche League Leaders are part of a tradition that goes back to the beginnings of humankind - one mother supporting another in the womanly art of breastfeeding. Each La Leche League Leader is a mother who has breastfed, has completed the LLL training and accreditation process and who enjoys helping breastfeeding mothers in need. She is prepared to give freely of her time to support mothers through one-to-one, by running group meetings, on the LLL helpline and in various other ways. We would love to hear from you if you are interested in becoming an LLL leader, if you have time to give and would like to enquire about the accreditation process, we would love to hear from you.
